Stage Lens Theater

"The stage is a lens for
who you are."

At Stage Lens Theater, we approach the art of improvisation as a way to connect with depth and purpose, while honoring the fundamentals of true theater and play structure. This is a space to explore what unfolds without a script. Just you, your scene partner, and the moment between you.Our classes blend improvisation, acting, storytelling, and theatrical play structure into a living, breathing practice crafted in real time. Whether you’re stepping onto the stage for the first time or returning to it with a fresh mind, we welcome anyone curious about performance and storytelling.- Welcome to Stage Lens Theater -

About

I'm glad you're here.
-

My name is Arastoo, and I believe that the theater stage, especially the unscripted one, is a place to discover not only storytelling and creativity, but to better understand who I am, and who you are.I started Stage Lens Theater to explore improvisation as a path toward becoming a stronger actor, storyteller, and creator of full length theater. For me, improvisation is where presence, vulnerability, and instinct take the lead. With years of experience as a performer and teacher, my work blends acting, story, connection, and deep listening to reveal what lies beneath the surface.Improvisation isn’t just comedy or games. It can be as layered, emotional, and meaningful as any written play. It’s a way to discover yourself through the raw truth of the moment. My goal is to help people grow not only as improvisers, but as actors and storytellers who feel grounded in real theatrical craft. I draw from classical acting focusing on presence, voice, body, emotion, and structure, while keeping the work supportive, personal, and accessible. At Stage Lens Theater, I offer a space for anyone; actors, artists, or the simply curious, to play, explore, and create stories that breathe with life and imagination.

I look forward to seeing you there.

March Class
MARCH-ING Into ABSURDITY!

March-ing into Absurdity is a playground for brave choices and beautifully strange ideas. This class is about stepping past hesitation and fully committing to the unexpected. Whether that’s an illogical world, an oversized emotional reaction, powerful and playful scene choices, or a character choice that feels deliciously risky. We’ll train your ability to heighten with confidence, justify the bizarre, and stay grounded in relationship even when the scene goes wildly off the rails. Absurdity doesn't mean chaos, it’s taking bold powerful choices that are both unexpected and fun. If you’re ready to stretch your range and build the muscle of fearless play, this is your invitation.Location : The Finnish Hall - 1970 Chestnut St. Berkeley, CA 94702Dates: March - 3, 10, 17, 24 Tuesday evenings from 7 - 9 PM.Price: $110

Group and Private Workshops

The core of any good idea is the people who help create it. Strong teams are built when individuals feel connected, present, and willing to listen with the intention of supporting one another. Improvisation is rooted in this principle of collaboration and shared awareness. With over fifteen years of performance and teaching experience, I tailor each training to the specific needs of a group. Whether the focus is listening, collaboration, trust, communication, or integrating different ideas, the work centers on presence and genuine connection.I have worked with teams at Google, Apple, Facebook, and Clorox, as well as a wide range of local Bay Area businesses and organizations. These sessions create an engaging, hands on environment where teams build adaptability, problem solving skills, and confidence through active participation. The result is stronger communication, deeper trust, and more connected teams that function more effectively together.Sessions are designed to work equally well with small teams or large groups, and can be scaled to fit the size and needs of the organization.I also provide private acting, improv, script work, and personal development lessons based on your performance needs. For a customized quote please feel free to contact me directly.Thank you for your interest.
